Illinois medical malpractice insurance for physicians

We work with Illinois physicians moving from employed coverage to their own policy, and with small-group doctors who already need a policy written for their practice — not system-placed insurance for a large employed network.

That usually means sorting what the hospital or group certificate covers versus what you still need for outpatient work, a side panel, or a new independent practice. No premiums on this page. We do not invent Illinois print license numbers.

Common questions

Claims-made coverage responds when a claim is made and reported during the policy period (or an extended reporting period / “tail”). Occurrence coverage responds based on when the incident happened, even if the claim arrives later. Which form fits depends on your practice, prior acts, and transition plans. We explain the tradeoffs in plain English. We do not quote premiums on this page.
It depends on how you practice. Employed physicians are often covered under a hospital or group program, but moonlighting, outpatient side practices, locums work, or leaving employment can create gaps. Independent and small-group physicians typically need a policy written for their own risk. We help you sort what you already have versus what you may still need.
A high-level indication can often follow an initial conversation once we understand specialty, setting, and renewal timing. A bindable quote usually takes longer: carriers need a complete submission, and subjectivities (applications, loss runs, credentialing details, prior-acts questions) can add days or weeks. We are honest about indication versus something you can actually bind.
